Mice

If a mouse comes indoors and needs to be caught, use a humane trap. Make sure you check the trap regularly as they become dehydrated quickly and although humane can still become a death trap. When releasing, make sure you take it some distance (it is said at least 2 miles) or it will find its way back again.

Wood Mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus)

Head and body 8-11cm, tail 7-11cm

Much cuter looking than the House Mouse with its large ears and eyes, the Wood Mouse is largely nocturnal.

Habitat:- Woods, hedgerows, gardens and cultivated land of all kinds.

Food:- Whatever is available, fungi, worms, insects, caterpillars, fruits and seeds. Will often store food under stones, wood piles etc.
