Choose Plants for the Butterflies and Bees

When choosing plants and seeds for your garden, forget about showy blooms. Double varieties may look pretty but are useless for bees and butterflies. Choose pollen and nectar rich flowers and try to add some native wild flowers too. We sell a range of beautiful wild flower seeds and wildlife attracting seeds too.

Encourage Children to love Bugs!

With bees and other bugs under threat its important to inspire children to appreciate them and not to stamp on everything that moves. Encourage them out into the garden this Easter, getting fresh air, to search for minibeasts. We stock a good range of nature exploration items and wildlife identification guides.

Take part in Wildlife Surveys

There are lots of interesting wildlife surveys you can get involved in this Easter. Buglife are having an Oil Beetle Hunt. You can join the Great Easter Newt Hunt and help conserve Britain's newts! There may also be local surveys you can take part in, here in Dumfries & Galloway we have the Bugs in Gardens project.
