Help bees out buy planting flowers that encourage our pollinators, look out for the symbols in garden centers or buy seeds here. Early Spring is the ideal time to put Bumblebee Boxes in place ready for when the queens emerge and start looking for nesting places. We also have a superb FSC Foldout Guide to Bees which includes Bumblebees.

BTO National Nestbox Week

This week the BTO have their annual National Nestbox Week to encourage people to put up new nestboxes for a variety of birds. It is also worth helping the birds out by providing nesting material. Dried grass, moss raked from the lawn, sheeps wool, hair clippings (human or pet) and even the fluff from your tumble dryer can be placed in fat ball holders or similar for the birds to collect. You can buy nestboxes and nesting wool here, we also have a Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer on Wool Refills.
